Last updated: July 16th, 2009CJA 202, Criminology class went on a field trip to the Mt. View Boys & Girls Club of America to do a small presentation for education and awareness purposes. Charter College students surveyed boys and girls about issues such as bulling, vandalism and crime in general. With the older children, the survey asked general questions about drug usage and issues related to school and discipline.
Interacting with the community is advantageous to both Charter College students and the community. Education and awareness helps young people to be more aware of the choices they face on a daily basis and how it can affect the rest of their lives.
It was great to see the interaction between Charter College and the community. Well done Criminal Justice students!
Another Success Story
Last updated: April 22nd, 2009Here’s Charter student Ian Murphy (left) with Alaska Field Service Manager, (and instructor at Charter), Chris Tortora, (right) working for the largest security company in the world!
“The skills he acquired at Charter made Security Officer Murphy really standout in the crowd. He’s only been with us for six months and we’re already considering him for promotion,” says Alaska Field Service Manager Chris Tortora.
Bottom Line: Our Professors help students get jobs and that’s the Charter difference.
